Scrooge is an old man who lives alone and only cares about work and money. He lives in a old, dreary, dark house.He doesn’t have one friend in the world.Because of his attitude towards people and Christmas, he is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve.His old friend Jacob Marley who is dead visits him before the three ghosts to warn him that they are coming.The first is the ghost of Christmas past who shows Scrooge past Christmas’ in his life.The second is the ghost of Christmas present, he shows him people that he knows spending Christmas with their families.The third is the ghost of Christmas future, this ghost is the most persuasive.Scrooge reacts to this ghost in a way that he hadn’t with the previous ghosts. When Scrooge is visited by the third ghost, he is revealed what may happen in Christmas’ to come.With the previous ghosts Scrooge was afraid when he first saw them, but he slowly grew to feel more comfortable around them.The same happened when the third came, he was scared at first but grew aware that the ghost was trying to help him.However, this ghost was far different than the other two.This ghost was very tall, wore a black robe, and throughout the entire dream he was silent towards Scrooge.This led to Scrooge knowing the seriousness of this particular ghost.He knew that the tidings which he brought were not of good report.This had a very dramatic affect on Scrooge and his life. The third ghost shows Scrooge something very important that may come to pass.The ghost before showed Scrooge the Cratchett family.He notices one particular individual from the family, “Tiny” Tim.Tiny Tim is the youngest member of the family.He is also a cripple, however, this has no effect on his spirits.The boy is always happy and very merry.He cares deeply for everyone in his family.Scrooge admires this, and grows to love tiny Tim.The third ghost takes Scrooge to a graveyard and at that graveyard he is shown the grave of tiny Tim.This has a profound effect on Scrooge.He then sees his own grave and is full of sorrow.This is the most emotion Scrooge has felt with all of the ghosts.This leads to the most important decision of his life. When we think about the future, it is something that we can change and not something that we can just look upon and hate ourselves for what we did in the past.Scrooge is given a second chance to change his ways.The third ghost has shown him what will happen if he does not change his ways.Scrooge makes the decision to change his life.He has decided to love Christmas and everyone around him.This saves not only his life but tiny Tim’s as well.People are now happy to know Scrooge because of his new attitude towards them and Christmas. Scrooge was lucky to see the three ghosts which gave him that second chance.What matters most of all is that he decided to act on the second chance.I know that the third ghost had the greatest effect on Scrooge.He shows Scrooge his own death and this motivates Scrooge to live a new life.We all need to live our lives so that we don’t have any regrets.All of us aren’t always given a second chance.
